Seaman Journey Reviews
Comments and recommendations received on this Galapagos cruise:
The last of my family has just left Ecuador to return to the U.S. and I did want to let you know about our trip to the Galapagos.
I cannot say enough good things about you, Columbus Travel and the arrangements that you made for us. Everything worked perfectly. There was not one problem and the providers were all outstanding. Everyone in our group was impressed by the arrangements you made for us. More specifically I want to highly commend you. I have never worked with anyone who was more responsive, more professional or more pleasant to work with than you!! We made a number of plan changes along the way and you made me feel like it was your pleasure to do so. Columbus Travel is extremely fortunate to have you as part of their team.
I have travelled extensively in my life, travelling to and around between 50 and 60 different countries representing every continent except Antarctica and spending as much as a year at a time traveling for pleasure. I have most often made my own arrangements but have used agents and travel advisors on a number of occasions. I understand the travel business and when I say I have never worked with anyone as good as you that is high praise indeed. If I need travel help in the future I will be back in touch and I will also recommend you and Columbus Travel to anyone I know who may need travel help. I hope you bring my comments to the attention of the management of Columbus Travel. If I can do anything for you please let me know.
Warmest regards and best wishes,
I had a great trip to the Galapagos and am very pleased with your attentiveness, professionalism and skill. All aspects of the trip met my and Rik's hopes and expectations. The only disappointment I can think of was the lack of kayaks on the Seaman Journey.
Thank you for creating a memorable trip for us!
I am happily back from our wonderful trip to the Galapagos. I was planning to write you today, but you beat me to it! Heide and I were thrilled to make this trip, and enjoyed every minute. Thank you so much for your help and that of Klaus Lueckert. Now I have printed up my photos and will be sharing them with friends.
My apologies for the delay! Our trip home was a little more exciting than we wished for... an additional 6.5hrs of waiting in Miami before leaving at 11:45 and we arrived back in DC around 3AM and I have been back at work full steam since then.
Anyway...our trip to the Galapagos was amazing!! We had a wonderful time. The Seaman was a great accomodation... the cabins were always clean, and well dressed... and we never saw the cabin boy do anything! The rest of the crew were always kind, helpful, and ready to do anything for us. There was just the right amount of interaction; enough activities on the boat to make it interesting and fun.
The guide, Angel, was the most patient man. He was very knowledgeable about the islands we visited and the animals we saw. He made sure everyone had enough time to see the animals, ask questions and take as many pictures as we wanted. I have to say he always had a smile on his face, always a kind word or a funny saying. He prepared us each evening for the next day's activities.
We enjoyed our tour of Quito and the trip to the middle of the world. The driver was excellent and Cynthia was very sweet. She was so kind to give her number to us in case we had any questions over the next few days. (fortunately, we did not need to call her!) We all enjoyed the Middle of the Earth stop...the tour guide there was entertaining and we all very much enjoyed the interactive nature of the stop. (We were glad to NOT get involved with all the traffic trying to see the monument around the corner that Sunday).
All in all, a wonderful trip and experience for us all.
I would say the only way to improve the experience would be to maybe give a little more guidance (in an online brochure maybe?) about what clothes to bring, and the fact that only cash is accepted at most places.
Thank you again for answering all of our questions, and helping to make this trip so wonderful!!

Here, here...three cheers for Ivonne. It's a little unsettling making travel arrangements thousands of miles away, however everything you represented exceeded all of our expectations. It was an adventure extravaganza and trip of a lifetime. Thank you, Ivonne, for all your recommendations in selecting the right boat to booking flights in and out of San Cristobal to finding a night on the island at a hotel. Everything was superb!
Happy New Year!

Hi Fernanda,We had the most wonderful time in your country! Everything was perfect, and it was definitely our most favorite trip yet. Your company and everyone on the Seaman was wonderful, friendly, helpful and professional.
I am considering a volunteer excursion next spring in the Ecuadorian Amazon. If I end up being able to go, I will likely be in touch with Columbus Travel for a Machu Picchu extension. Hopefully I will be able to work it out next year; I would love to return to Ecuador.
